Picture of the Week

It was yet another busy week for me last week, I just came off from covering a wedding last Friday. I am glad everything came through well, and am looking forward to the challenges in months ahead!

This week, I am featuring an old image taken in April this year. I was in Kuala Lumpur for wedding and portrait shoot back then. During my free time, I hopped between the malls in the city, and I was attracted by the escalators in huge malls.

ESCALATIONS. I have always been attracted by the idea of having different people moving in different direction in one frame. And this image shows just that, it also shows the contrast in space for the three different escalators (in different levels).

A quick edit on this image, by just cropping and adding vignetting to the image. I have some ideas reserved for this shot, and will re-post this when I’m done putting the final touches to the idea I have.

It was a great wedding day yesterday, and here is a same-day-edit photo montage from yesterday. The bride requested for an upbeat number in Bruno Mars’ Marry You. Congratulations to the newlywed!

Minimal adjustment are applied to the images used in the montage.

One of the reasons I love my hometown

I left Kuala Lumpur almost 5 years ago, and I left for the city I love most this far in my life. There are things which the other two cities I have lived in before couldn’t really match with. And, this is one of the reasons why..

Beautiful sky and cloud formation is a common sight here in Kuching.

It’s just simply beautiful to look up into the skies sometimes, especially in Kuching.

Sarawak Regetta 2011

Sarawak Regetta has become an annual event on the calendar year for Kuching, and it could only do all good as it attracts people from all around the word. I was glad not to have missed the water action on the conclusion day for the event.

I am always thrilled to be able to capture sport actions, it must have something to do with my addiction to sports channel (i.e. ESPN, Starsports) since young. Equipped with only 70-200mm f/4L USM, I was pleased with what I have captured on the day. I didn’t have any special passes, and I didn’t have lens which have long enough reach to capture the action up close!

I still have to crop this images out, despite that the equivalent reach on my cropped body (EOS 50D) is about 360mm. Otherwise, I will be struggling to get a decent composition.

Stars of Florida crew put up a great show at the Sarawak River at the Sarawak Regetta Event which concluded on Sunday.

There are a few more to come from the event right after this. I shall spend some time to sort the final images before posting them here. So, please stay tuned for more updates.

Picture of the Week

Earlier this month, I had a guest in the house, and stayed over for almost 2 weeks. This little fella was pretty shy when she first checked in, but eventually expanded her territory as she settles in. Now that she’s back to where she belongs, I kinda miss her.
