Christmas + Wedding

Tuesday, December 27th, 2011

I’ve been almost overwhelmed by a lot of tasks during the Christmas time, as I had a wedding job to handle. Congratulations to Jin and LeAnn who celebrated their wedding on eve of Christmas day. There will be a couple more shoot before I bid goodbye to jobs in 2011. It was surely fun to shoot their wedding, and it was also nice to have met new friends during weddings.

I hope it isn’t too late to wish everyone Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Replacing parts.

Monday, December 19th, 2011

April 2008, that was when I bought my first Apple product. A 13-inch Macbook white, running on a Core 2 duo. Together with my set of Canon equipment, I have since started a wonderful journey with them.

Three years on, I have since replaced a few parts on the Macbook, as well as upgrading the parts. Hard disk drive, RAM (Memory), batteries, and most recently the power adapter.

December has been a packed month for me. I cannot afford any downtime on production, especially with so many deadlines to meet. As what Murphy’s law states – anything that can go wrong will go wrong. My power adapter died at this nick of time. To make things worse, there wasn’t any stock available in Kuching at that time, not even in Miri and Kuala Lumpur (part of it).

Thankfully, I have managed to loan an adapter while waiting for them to restock. I managed to get this 60W adapter from Switch last week. Magsafe Adapter is available in three different specs, 45W, 60W and 85W, which are suited for different type of Macbook, from Macbook Air, to 13 inch Macbook and 13 inch Macbook Pro, as well as 15 and 17 inch Macbook Pro.

Hard to say Goodbye

It's hard to say goodbye

SAYING GOODBYE: One of the pups are being adopted, while the other says goodbye from the cage. SSPCA often encourages pet adoption to the public, hoping to find a loving home to these lovely animals, be it cats or dogs.

I recently visited one of SSPCA (Sarawak Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) Sarawak’s charity sales, in conjunction to the event, they also had a few pets for public adoption. SSPCA Sarawak encourages public to adopt these animals, who are in need of a loving shelter and care. If you are thinking of getting yourself a pet, do give SSPCA a visit, they have plenty of cats and dogs for adoption. I almost wanted to adopt one myself, but I couldn’t take in another pet at the moment.

MEOW: This beautiful cat still awaits for adoption in the cage. I think she (or could be he) looks really beautiful, and elegant.

INNOCENCE: This beagle-like pup was really adorable, I almost gave in and brought him (or her) home.

CAUGHT IN BETWEEN: I framed the child's face in between a guest and the glass he was holding while the couple went round the hall with a "Yam Seng" toast table by table.

Catching that bit of Lunar Eclipse

Catching that bit of Lunar Eclipse

ECLIPSE: Not exactly a money shot, but that'll do. The moon hid away behind the cloud earlier one when the eclipse started.

Thanks to the tweets, and some posts in FB, I only got to know about the lunar eclipse happening at South East Asia tonight moments ago. When I found out about it, I said to myself, “Why not just take a peek at the moon, and see how it is like?”

So, I went out of the house and looked up. The shy moon was hiding behind the cloud that time, and I saw nothing. Oh, great! I went back in. But, I still managed to catch a bit of the eclipse at 12 midnight. As you could see on the image above, there was still some bit of shadow casting over the moon. Some two hours later, the full moon was clear again.

There you go, that bit of lunar eclipse. My very first experience.
